I don't really know where to start as I am still bouncing with excitement!! We arrived at Bracknell on Saturday morning and got the cats installed into their pens. I had three cats entered into the show, Taya, Sky and Jemima. It was nice to see a good number of Tonks entered into the show. I was surprised at the number of Selfs entered in the adult section as there are usually more 'patterned cats' on the bench than selfs.

When the time came to leave the hall I collected my catalogue and looked at the classes. Taya was the only cat in the Imperial Class but Jemima had 6 cats in her open class and Sky had 3 cats in her Grand class.

bullet

The results took a while to go up and Taya had been awarded the first for her Imperial Class, I checked for the open and was slightly disappointed that Jemima had not been placed, my spirits were dramatically lifted when I saw that Taya had won Best of Breed! I know then that she may have a chance of achieving Best Adult in show.

Sky hadn't done so well in the Grand but was placed first in her open class.

As the afternoon went on Taya continued to be placed first in her side classes and I became a wreck of nervous excitement and I apologise to anyone who had to put up with me!

bullet

Jemima and Sky did well their side classes but it was Taya who ended up with a red card day, obtaining firsts in all 4 of her side classes.

Best in Show nomination cards appeared on the pens and to my excitement both Taya and Sky received nominations.

The time eventually came for the judging of Best in Show. We were unsure of how the judges were judging the best in show adults, but it soon became apparent that this had already taken place at the pens and as Taya was the only adult pulled out I realised to my delight that she had got the best in show adult female and as there were no adult males entered in the show, this meant that she had also won best in show adult.

The best in kitten male and female were judged, followed by the neuters. It was then time for the judges to decide on the overall best in show. My heart was racing!!!

bullet

The final three consisted of Taya, Fecheldee Daisey May and Imp Gr Pr Episcopuss Ianthe.

bullet

I could hardly bear to watch, and was sure that Ianthe (who is Taya's granmother) would win but to my disbelief they announced that Best in Show was 'the Lilac Adult'.

bullet

I jumped in the air and ran over to Sue Amor who had been stewarding for Best in Show and gave Taya a big kiss before placing her in her Best in Show Pen!

bullet

Taya obediently posed for a mass of photographs and then I took her to Robert Fox for some professional photos to mark the occasion!

bullet

I have to thank the judges, Mary Kalal, Diana Harper and John Hansson!

bullet

I had a job packing up all the goodies that Taya had won and was very grateful to Christine Richards for helping me get the cats and their things to the car.

bullet

I drove home with a massive smile on my face and Taya had a very specail dinner!!
