What a day we had at the
Breed club show! I arrived with three cats, Taya, Willow and Kushi and after
seeing the classes I genuinely believed that today we were not going to be
taking home many red rosettes. There were lots of really good Tonks there and
the classes were fairly large.

The open results went up and
I had to read the slip three times to believe that Taya had been placed first
and got here second CC and even then I had to go back for a second time to see
that she had also got Best of Breed!

 |
The day carried on and I met
a number of people on the Yahoo Tonkinese Internet List and caught up with some
good friends. More results were put up, to my disbelief and excitement Taya was
being placed first in her side classes as well. To make the day even better
Willow won her open class and received her first PC. I was over the moon! Kushi
came second in his Open Class and was placed first in 3 side classes

It then dawned on me that
Taya could be going forward to Best in Show adult. I didn't even dare to dream
but as time went by and she won yet more Firsts I started to believe it was
possible that she could do it! She was entered into the maximum 8 classes, last
year she got 7 firsts and a second so I now had my fingers crossed for a red
card day.
|
 |
As always it seemed to take
an age for the last side classes to go up and I was literally bouncing when she
had achieved Firsts in all 8 classes. That was enough for me - my day was
complete! Taya was by now getting a lot of attention behind the sea of red
rosettes! I swear she was showing off! She looked proud of herself and had
stopped hiding under her blanket.

I was the wrong side of the
hall when they started to announce Best in Show, by the time I had reached the
crowed they had announced 'Best in show Adult & Overall Best in Show - Fecheldee
Chailai Titaya' I yelped and jumped 2 feet in air before giving Taya the biggest
cuddle! I am still on a high writing this 3 days later! I still have to pinch
myself and check the photos to believe that my little baby achieved such an
accolade!

I would like to thank the
Tonkinese Breed Club and especially Linda Vousden for such a wonderful day.
There was a fantastic atmosphere at the show - what else would you expect with a
hall full of Tonk slaves.
